A few months ago Celebrate Recovery on the Plateau welcomed a pastor and missionary from Spain, Josh Fajardo, to our meeting. That meeting night had a Spanish flare with an authentic paella meal and a testimony from one of our leaders with connections to Spain. That night in March was Josh’s first time at a CR meeting. CR exists in many countries around the world, but is nowhere in Spain. Josh was moved by the ministry and saw great need for this type of healing in Spain. In the months that followed, our CR leaders have been exploring ways to partner with Josh to support the launch of this ministry in Spain.
CR on the Plateau and Pine Lake Covenant Church (PLCC) are pleased to announce that a CR mission to Spain has been approved. The mission team will hold a seminar in Rivas, Spain (a suburb of Madrid) to train pastors and lay church leaders in October of this year. Ardis Nelson, a leader at CR on the Plateau, will be joined by two other CR leaders from Grenoble, France with international CR launch experience.
Why is CR on the Plateau involved in this mission? Our CR ministry was founded as a plant of Missio Lux, a former mission based non-profit organization, which invested in and partnered with many local and global outreach programs and ministries. It was only natural that our CR ministry would chose to also support a call to serve beyond the confines of our regular weekly meetings.
When Ardis felt the call to support the launch of CR in Spain, our leader team thoughtfully and prayerfully considered the broader call of our ministry. This blog is one way that we do that as it allows us to reach people globally. The CR mission in October is an even bigger call to be the hands and feet of Jesus on the ground in Spain. We hope to also build a long term partnership to foster seeds of change and healing into this country.
